IMG_2260.jpg:  Raqqa, the bread is cooled down right in the center of the street.
IMG_3093.jpg: As not all can write and sign, fingerprinting is still popular.
Once you are done on paper, you clean your fingers on the wall. Water is too precious :-)
IMG_3121.jpg: Once it had rained, all vehicles get the same color, that is a form of democracy :-)
IMG_3087.jpg: Even without knowing a single word of Arabic, when traveling in Syria, one becomes quickly familiar with two famous Syrians. Here is the son.
IMG_2279: The mystic Euphrates has provided water to many different civilizations which
have blossomed on its banks.

IMG_3460.jpg: Another of those beauties that has found a second life in Syria.
IMG_3270.jpg: In Europe, after 22h in the evening you are always sure you can buy cigarettes someplace.
In Syria too but you can top it with fruits and vegetables as well.

A Brand New Mosque

I had the chance to enter an "under construction" mosque located right at the door of Micheleb.
As usual in Raqqa, I was most welcomed and invited to come and see everywhere.

Micheleb

IMG_3599.jpg: A bread machine. Yes, not everything is handcrafted.
IMG_3917.jpg: As you surf these pages, this coffee pot is probably hot and ready.
Syrians serve it from dusk till dawn.

IMG_3393.jpg: A little piece of advice, on your next trip to Syria, remember to
bring twice as many socks as usual. Syrian are so friendly, you won't use your shoes so much :-)

Around Micheleb - Tal Al-Bayaa

Take a closer look at IMG_4120, those pieces of pottery lie everywhere under your feet.
They have been used, maybe 4000 years ago.
IMG_4050, IMG_4057.jpg: Why these rather hugly images? In order to be fair, I felt I had to present
some of the less enjoyable sceneries you will also pay attention to.
Depending of the country you will come from. Me? Switzerland
, so it was not too hard to notice :-)
